It was 2009. The world was in the midst of a financial crisis, and for many banks, the internet was still uncharted territory. Michael Altendorf and his team saw something else: a world where data wasn’t just stored, but understood.
Back then, people called it “Big Data” or “Data Mining.” We called it the future. We didn’t start with millions in VC funding — we started with code. We built algorithms that learned.
The breakthrough came fast: As the first Facebook Marketing Partner in Germany, we proved that personalisation works. But we realised: true relevance doesn’t happen on social media — it happens where real financial life happens. In the bank account.
Knighted in the Swiss Alps
In 2012, the phone rang. It was the World Economic Forum. They had selected us as a “Technology Pioneer” — alongside Google, Airbnb and Spotify in their early years.
In Davos, we didn’t discuss banner ads. We discussed the responsibility of technology. How to use AI ethically. How to protect data.
This moment defined our DNA: we chose sustainable software architecture over the quick exit. “Made in Germany” became our promise of security in an insecure digital world.

Responsible AI at Acceleraid
Our AI systems support analytics, personalization, and automation in marketing and customer experience. Acceleraid's AI does not make automated decisions that determine an individual's legal rights, financial status, or access to essential services.
We follow a risk-based, use-case-driven approach to AI, aligned with the principles of the EU AI Act. Based on their intended purpose, Acceleraid's AI systems are classified as low-risk or transparency-only AI systems and do not fall under the EU AI Act's High-Risk categories.
Responsible AI is an ongoing commitment. We regularly review our AI systems and use cases to ensure responsible and compliant operation.
